Paraneoplastic Neurodegenerative Syndrome Enhance Receptor Activation

چکیده
Background: Paraneoplastic syndromes are "remote" complications of cancer characterized clinically by neurological disease. The sera and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from patients with paraneoplastic neurological syndromes (PNS) frequently contain autoantibodies to illdefined neuronal antigens. We report here that neuronal glutamate receptors are targets for autoantibodies found in the serum from some patients with well-characterized

Superior Vena Cava Syndrome due to Thrombosis: A Rare Paraneoplastic Presentation of Bronchogenic Carcinoma
Superior vena cava (SVC) syndrome is not an uncommon occurrence in patients with malignancy and it is often described as a medical emergency. In majority of the cases, SVC syndrome occurs due to mechanical obstruction of the SVC by extraluminal compression with primary intrathoracic malignancies. However, intraluminal obstruction due to thrombosis can also produce symptoms and signs of SVC synd...

Collapsin response mediator protein 5 (CRMP5) belongs to a family of five cytosolic proteins that play a major role in nervous system development. This protein was first described in cancer-induced autoimmune processes, causing neurodegenerative disorders (paraneoplastic neurologic syndromes). CRMP5 expression has been reported to serve as a biomarker for high-grade lung neuroendocrine carcinom...
متن کاملPrimary Small Cell Carcinoma of the Esophagus (PSCEC) Associated with Paraneoplastic Sweating Syndrome: A Case Report and Literature Review
Introduction: Primary small cell carcinoma of theesophagus (PSCEC) associated with paraneoplastic sweating syndrome is a rare disease characterized with rapid growth rate, metastasis at the time of diagnosis, and poor prognosis. The lung is the most common site for small cell carcinoma but this malignancy includes 0.1% to 1% of all gastrointestinal and 0.8% to 2.7% of esophageal malignancies. ...

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR-α), which belongs to the nuclear receptor family of ligand-activated transcription factors, was first described as gene regulators for metabolic pathways including lipid metabolism, insulin sensitivity, and glucose homeostasis. Were raised. This nuclear receptor is widely expressed in various tissues, providing a wide range of effects to st...
متن کاملP 107: P2x7 Receptors: as a Novel Targets for the Treatment of Neuroinflammation
P2x7 receptors are Purineric receptors that are extracellular ATP-gated ion channel. These receptors require high dose or prolonged exposure to ATP for initial activation. The Activation of these receptors facilitates the formation of inflammasome which activates caspase 1. The P20 and P10 subunits of caspase 1 form active enzyme that then releases active interleukin (IL)-1 β and IL-18, tu...
